There are several things that could be changed in my home country. If I had the power to change and resolve one major improvement, I would choose to change the way that government handle with rubbish in Thailand. This blog will discuss the effect of over trash in Thailand and what can the government do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced.
In this day and age, the amount of garbage in Thailand is increasing rapidly due to a population that is growing continuously, not to mention other countries. As we know that population growth may be the most pressing issue we face and this lead to a problem called "over trash". In Thailand, our government makes a huge mistake on how we eliminate our waste such as disposing of rubbish by throwing it directly into the river or by using an incinerator. This causes serious pollution problems including killing sea animals and harming an environment.
The government along with citizen should better start on how to manage garbage more critically. What government should do is that they could come up with a campaign which helps to reduce the trash in a different area of Thailand. Moreover, citizens should cooperate by using natural elements instead of plastic such as a reusable cloth bag, reusable water bottle, and bamboo toothbrush. Most importantly, we should learn to divide our trash as like in Japan, so that we can reuse the materials again.
To conclude, pollution is the main problem in my country. I would like to conserve our environment and make it a better place to live for both human and animals.
You offered very clear potential solutions, excellent job!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the situation with reusable and recyclable items? Do you feel like there is a huge movement and motivation for Thai people? How can Thailand look to other countries for solution? How do you think tourism impacts the issue of "over trash"?
An example for the situation is we can use a scrap paper to make notes and recycle it when we are no longer need. It seems like in Thailand, people tend to care about themselves more than an environment and there're not many campaign or organisation that really take an action on this kind of problems, so I feel like there is nothing to motivate Thai people to make it as a serious problem. Thailand should take Japan as a role model for a solution such as dividing our trash into categories. As I mentioned above, the growth of the population creates uncontrollable trash which means that at tourist attraction there will be a lot of trash that we can't control.
