TOEFL Prompt VI

Forest is one of the natural resources that going to disappear in the near future. This is due to the population growth of humans that is growing rapidly. Although there might be some campaign that trying to conserve the environment and natural resources, it still not enough when compared to the number of trees that have been cut down because of human activities.

The reason why the forest needs to be saved is that cutting down trees leads to many effects of the ecological system. The main effect is that many animal species such as insects, mammals or amphibians all rely on trees for their habitat including humans who have planted trees to build houses. Some animals use trees as their homes, whether living on trees, leaves or living on the roots of trees. Therefore, without forests, animals will have no place to live.

The forest is tha main food resources for animals, when forests are destroyed, animals have no fruit or parts of edible trees to eat. As a result, the number of herbivores will decrease. Moreover, forest also helps to hide animals from predators. Nowadays, the number of destroyed trees is increasing due to humans activities, thereby, there will be not enough trees to protect the herbivores from predators and consequently, herbivores will become the target of predators more easily. Therefore, the number of herbivores will decrease. So, when there are fewer herbivores, predators that would eat their flesh once more began to decrease because there are no animals for them to hunt. As a result, hunters cannot survive. As can be seen, the animal's life cycle is interconnected.

In addition, since there is not enough forest left to create relative humidity in the air. Therefore, it will cause a little rain and long drought which will make the streams or rivers dry and in the end, the forest and animals will disappear. Since animals can not survive without water.

Image result for deforestation of wild animalsIn conclusion, deforestation leads to killing animals. It can be said that protecting a forest also preserves the habitat of wildlife, which means saving forests can also save an animal's life.

    1. There are many kinds of activities that cause deforestation, but the most serious thing that human does to the forest are building and global warming. Humans need shelters to protect themselves, so they must cut down trees to build it. Also, rich investors are buying all the land to build a villa and resort to making a profit. These movements must cut down a lot of trees. Moreover, global warming that created by human will increase the average temperature of the earth, and it will cause wildfire because the earth has become hotter and hotter. The latest world news is wildfire damaging many wild animals in Australia; hundreds of koalas died in this scenario.

Having fewer trees will cause many impacts on people because trees absorb carbon dioxide and provide oxygen. Besides, trees also help to prevent some natural disasters, especially floods.

Many livestock will die from hunger and cold weather because their habitats have destroyed by humans.
