TOEFL Prompt VII

Indeed, learning in school is not enough for us to live in the real world, we should have experiences from the outside world as well. In this essay, I will compare and contrast the differences in gaining knowledge from experiences and books. And In my perspective, the knowledge that we learn for our experiences is the most important thing.

Image result for cats and bookThe knowledge from books gives us a strong and sufficient foundation for us to broaden our imagination and ideas to use in the future. Likewise, gaining knowledge from books is like learning from someone else's experiences, it is the knowledge that we learn from other's success, which I think is not enough for us. However, books are still important. For example, as a doctor, of course, they must study hard by reading medical books and many important theories before they perform real experience. Therefore, in order to become an expert with the proper experience, gaining knowledge from books is necessary.

In contrast, by gaining knowledge from experiences, we have to learn from real things such as our trail and error. Experiences are the knowledge that we can not find from anywhere else except our own experiences. It is something that teaches us to grow up strong and quality. For example, to be an expert in cooking, we can not only read the guild lines in the recipes but we should try and improve ourselves by our mistake in order to cook delicious food. So, practical experiences are the skill that we mostly used in real life.

To conclude, the knowledge that we learn from our experiences is more important than learning from the book because when it comes to the real world, the knowledge that we gained from experiences is something that we used more in life more than facts and theories.

However, the more knowledge that we have whether from books or experiences will give us even more advantages when faced with various problems and challenges. Things or money may be stolen, but the knowledge is something that no one can take from us.

Was there a time when you read about something, then experienced it later and the experience was different than what you had read?

What types of experiences are better endured than reading about it?

    1. Yes, once, I had read the book about the movie that I interested in. In the book, it was amazing and marvelous. I cannot stop reading this book because of the content and turning points. However, when this book became a movie, I did not enjoy this movie as much as the book since there were some parts of the book that did not show in the movie.

In my opinion, there are so many experiences that are better than looking through books. Experiences allow us to feel some magnificent things that books cannot reach. For example, traveling to different countries is better than read a book about that country. We can feel something real and tangible, and we can fully touch those atmospheres. Also, we can keep in our memory till eternity.
