Mid Semester Reflections

From the first day of school to the last half of this semester, I think I'm halfway through of writing goals. As I mentioned in my writing goals blog that I want to use less time in writing one essay, I think I nearly achieved that goal. Before writing a blog, I used to spend more than 1-2 hours to finish it, but now I rarely exceed 1-hour on it. However, I still need to improve my grammar structure and vocabulary because I like to use repetitive words and sometimes I'm still confused when using grammar in sentences. Hence, I should study harder on vocabulary, by doing this, I need to find new vocabulary every day whether in a book or social media. Therefore, I can have many word choices to write my essay. For grammar, I wish I can gain as much information and knowledge as possible from grammar lessons in the AC class.  The success that I have had so far is being able to order food in the Japanese language without struggling. I know it might be an easy success for someone, b...

Global Warming

Many countries are now taking action on the solutions to global warming more seriously. As you can see, nowadays, there are more and more campaigns and organizations that try to conserve the environment. For example, Japan is now using cloth bags instead of plastic bags when they go to a supermarket. By doing this, they can reduce the number of carbon emissions from plastic bags that burned into the atmosphere. The problem that concerns me the most is the average temperature of the atmosphere around the earth's surface rises, which will make heatwaves occur frequently and become more severe. Therefore, humans will die due to high temperatures, especially in the country that extremely hot such as Africa and Sudan. Moreover, global warming will increase pathogens in tropics and air pollution in the city will be more serious and intense. There are several steps that I can take as an individual to reduce the carbon footprint. Firstly, use less electricity, for example, unplugged...

Learning New Languages

In modern society, most people in the world communicate in English, whether directly communicating with each other or using social media. My father always told me that if I have the skill of both speaking and writing in multiple languages, those skills will increase the opportunity to find a job in my future, and it will not be limited only in Thailand but it will be beneficial around the world. So, that is one of my reason that I chose to study aboard. In my opinion, beginning to learn new languages is tough. I found it difficult to speak in other languages rather than my native language because I have to structure the grammar in my mind before I speak out, so it's kind of complicated, especially Japanese. Besides, I usually feel nervous when speaking or talking to someone that I'm not familiar with. Therefore, I don't like speaking. Learning a new language grammar structure is the most difficult part because some languages such as Japanese have a completely diffe...

Reflection of Comparison Essay

The most difficult part of an introduction is when I write a hook because it is very hard to write a sentence that has to be interesting and make the readers what to continue reading on my essay. I don't think that I wrote a perfect introduction because I'm not good at making up an attractive hook. However, I'm quite confident in my thesis statement because I show the readers what I'm going to write in the essay by using clear and concise words. I found it difficult to analyze all of the ideas into one paragraph. Although, I have practice concluding paragraph for several times but I'm still not good at it. Hence, that's the reason why I don't think that I wrote a perfect conclusion. In my opinion, organizing the essay is the easiest part because I brainstorm and make a plan about what to put in my essay before I write it down. However, there were some difficulties that I had confronted. I found it difficult to write the content as I had planned beca...

Sports

The most popular sport in Thailand can't be anything else except Thai boxing or มวยไทย (Muay Thai in traditional language). Thai boxing is a form of close-combat that utilizes the entire body as a weapon. What makes Thai boxing very uniques is that it is known as "the art of 8 limbs". This refers to eight points of contact used including the fists, elbows, knees, and shins, which is different from taekwondo or karate that mainly focuses on legs. Also, at the start of the match, a Wai Khru (Wai Khru convey the value of Thai culture and traditions) ceremony must be performed, whereby the boxers enter the ring wearing a ceremonial rattan headband and starting to fight. There are few sports that require speed and badminton is one of them. Badminton makes me more healthy because it needs speed and strength which is very challenging. I enjoyed playing badminton more than other sport because it is easy to play and it is an indoor sport which means that I don't have to w...

Insecurities

In childhood, someone may feel insecure because they do not receive love and praise as much as they should. Sometimes the pictures that parents often argue and eventually divorce may be embedded in child memory. They may blame themselves for the cause, even though it's not true. Even worse, their parents may scold or hurt their body because they are trouble makers. What will happen to a child in this condition? Some turned to use drugs or drink alcohol in their teens. Some people go to mingle with other gangs because they want to have friends or people that they can rely on. Therefore, a teenager that lacks warmth in the family may leap for someone to fill the love which they are craving. But this relationship does not last long and more often, the isolation of one another makes it even more insecure than before. Some teenagers that do not fall into this condition may grow into a person who does not gradually value themselves enough. For instance, some people may consider...

Nowadays, technology has improved rapidly compare to the past, many inventions have been created including television and movies. These products can change people’s life forever due to how they use or watch, especially kids. Although, Television and movie help people to entertain themselves, and also can reduce stress. However, if young people follow the wrong path it will change their life. The first reason is that television and movies provide a variety of genres, such as drama, horror, thriller, love, adventure, aggressive, etc. Some genres help to entertain people and some are not, but for kids who are innocent and do not know what it is. Watching horror and thriller movies can harm kids mentally way, which will make them scared to talk to other people because they do not trust them; consequences, kids will not be able to interact with friends and difficult to join the society. Student Life

Higher education is basically the most important choice for people to choose whether they are going to further their education or not. It is widely known that people who gain higher education such as Master's degrees or Ph.D. mostly have a higher chance to get a high salary job and get a promotion in their workplace. Therefore, gaining a higher education would be a better choice for people who want to further their knowledge of their interests and get a high position in their careers. Older people used to say that the most interesting part of a person's life is when you are a student, which I do not understand why they used to say that because I’m still a student and never experienced adult life. However, I still believed that student life is the best period of human life. Being a student has nothing to be worried about except grade and homework that given by a school, we don’t have to be responsible in financial, job or family, our parents always support us in every wa...

TOEFL Prompt III

It is widely believed that undergraduate students must participate in the class that been told by the university. Others claim that students are allowed to choose the classes that they are interesting. However, I strongly agree with the second thought. Advocated of the first view claim that students that have to study in the classes managed by the university will achieve varieties of new information, and it will make students have more opportunities in the future. It makes students analyze things more different due to the high base of knowledge that causes students to see more foresighted. However, if students do not interesting in the classes arranged by the university, for example, some subjects are not suitable for some students because every person has a different dream job and background. Forcing students to attend the classes not only makes them unsatisfied but also causes them to waste all of their valuable time. Notwithstanding the first view, there are still some peo...
